The Trick

A lie is just as good as the real thing because that's all they want to hear,
they don't want to realize their fears.
They want to be oblivious, CHOOSE to be ignorant of their flaws,
so they can trick themselves into believing they created new laws... for life.
Laws that show how life is really supposed to be carried out,
but they crack and quickly become filled with so much doubt,
that they come crawling back to us for justice.
We, the stern, the cold and unemotional are supposed to extinguish
the confusion about why and how the world did them wrong.
They need us to supply them with the armor to keep going,
unaware that they outcast us because of that very skill they, at the moment, need.
Not realizing that the seed of their confusion is the fact that they choose to lie to themselves about what life is, and doing so has made them weak.
They make me sick,
but now I know that lying to them is what they want.
THAT is the trick.
